Testis & Scrotum Anatomy

Seminiferous tubules → rete testis → efferent ductules → epididymis → vas, wrapped in tunica vaginalis/albuginea — and two classic drainage facts: left testicular vein → left renal vein, testis → para-aortic nodes.

Orientation

The big picture

The testis is organised tubules-to-duct (seminiferous tubules → rete testis → efferent ductules → epididymis → vas), enclosed by the tunica vaginalis and tunica albuginea. The vas crosses anterior to the ureter to join the seminal vesicle duct → ejaculatory duct → prostate.

Golden rule

Left testicular vein → left renal vein (commoner left varicocele); testis drains to para-aortic nodes, scrotal skin to inguinal nodes.

Board traps

Testis drains to para-aortic nodes, not inguinal; scrotal skin drains to inguinal nodes.

Left testicular vein → left renal vein (the right drains directly to the IVC) — same side-specific pattern as the adrenal veins; a new non-emptying left varicocele can signal a left renal tumour.
